Eden Sandoval

Indie Author, World Builder, Caffeine Consumer

Eden Sandoval is an Indigenous & Latine indie author who was born in Chile and grew up in Chicago. After subjecting themself to a law degree, they left the legal field to pursue their true love: telling stories and creating worlds. Now, they craft narratives with complex protagonists navigating messy worlds, weaving in themes of growth through and beyond trauma, liberation & equity, and neurodivergence & disability. When not writing, they enjoy photography, archery, attending fandom conventions, making cosplays, and staring at the lake. Eden lives in Chicago with their spouse and rescue pup.

I write New Adult fantasy, science-fantasy, romance, and poetry.

Reading

My favorite genres to read are YA/NA/A fantasy and historical romance.

Sewing/Knitting

Sewing and knitting are some of my go-to creative outlets! I particularly love designing and sewing/building cosplay costumes for fan conventions.

Archery

I love archery (though I'm not particularly good at it), and it's one of my favorite ways to regulate.

Photography

I love taking pictures of my city, my family, nature, travel, wildlife, etc. I'm a novice, but that doesn't slow me down. I'm drawn to the creative expression that can be achieved through the composition, and I love experimenting with the interplay of light, shadows, colors, and textures. It makes my brain happy!

Nature Walks

I love walking in nature! There are amazing forest preserves around my city as well as nature preserves, parks, and lakefront trails within it that I love to frequent. Tree bathing is good for the soul, as is staring at the lake, and I love seeing animal friends (of the wild AND domesticated varieties) while out there!
